Basal Digital Thermometer

Best Basal Body Thermometer

A basal digital thermometer gives you one of the most accurate body temperature readings possible.
A basal digital thermometer is a very useful tool, as it can read your body’s temperature to within 0.1 degrees Fahrenheit.  This is different from a traditional thermometer, which is only accurate to within 0.2 degrees Fahrenheit.  Basal thermometers are useful in that sense, because they are hypersensitive and are great for measuring a body’s resting temperature, extremely accurately.  Basal digital thermometers are most typically used by women to determine periods of ovulation.  So this type of thermometer can be very useful for determining the period of time when a woman is mostly likely to become pregnant.
There are two types of basal thermometer to choose from, but the digital basal thermometer option is by far the most convenient and useful.  The more standard types are glass basal thermometers, which work the same as a regular thermometer, but are still more accurate, whereas the basal digital thermometer is also extremely accurate, and can also chart the readings for any given period of time, which also helps a woman figure out when they are most likely to be ovulating.  During ovulation the body’s basal temperature will decrease, so charting the progress with a digital basal thermometer is extremely useful and convenient for detecting this.
To ideally use a basal digital thermometer for this purpose, you have to take accurate temperature readings in the morning.  The best time to determine your body’s resting temperature, is before any activity has taken place, and the only time that that is the case, is right after you wake up.  So to chart basal temperature, you should take a reading every morning, immediately after you wake from sleep.  The sooner the better, as the more activity your body completes, the less accurate the reading of your resting temperature will be.  So timing is absolutely key, especially if you’re trying to chart an ovulation cycle for the purposes of getting pregnant.
There are more standard digital basal thermometers which are available on the market, and more advanced versions.  The standard are not unlike any digital body thermometer, but they will measure your temperature more accurately.  But standard basal digital thermometers usually don’t include memory options, to store your temperature readings over time, which means you’ll have to chart progress yourself.  The more advanced models allow you to create time tables, and are even intended for use when trying to conceive.  These are higher in price, but allow you to keep accurate records of basal temperature, so that you can accurately calculate when you are ovulating.
To purchase a digital basal thermometer, there are a variety of different places.  Discount department stores like Walmart and Target will have a few options, although they tend to be the more standard thermometers.  For a model intended for those looking to get pregnant, you might have to try a store or website more specific to family planning.  For a standard basaldigital  thermometer you can expect to pay around $10-$15.  But for an advanced model that allows you to chart temperature over time, you could end up paying as much as $100.
